What the Curtain Cost Calculator actually calculates
The engine multiplies one shared fabric length by the sum of fabric and lining rates, then adds hardware and labor. It assumes lining length equals face-fabric length, so calculate a different lining length separately if your construction requires it. There is no separate interlining, tax, or pattern-matching cost calculation.
The calculation path
One entered length is priced at both the face-fabric and lining rates, then hardware and labor are added.
Inputs that can change the answer
- Face fabric: Enter face fabric in m.
- Fabric per metre: Enter fabric per metre as a number; use the definition in the calculation method.
- Lining per metre: Enter lining per metre as a number; use the definition in the calculation method.
- Rod and hardware: Enter rod and hardware in the selected currency; keep tax and included work consistent.
- Making and fitting: Enter making and fitting in the selected currency; keep tax and included work consistent.
- Currency: Label for all entered prices; no currency conversion is performed.
Checks that stay outside the formula
Custom heading tape, interlining, and pattern matching may increase labor.
A practical order for entering the data
- Enter the face-fabric length established by your curtain cutting plan.
- Enter fabric and lining prices per metre in the same currency.
- Add the total hardware and making-and-fitting charges to estimate the complete cost.
Engine check using the prefilled sample
Window-treatment example: face fabric = 8 m, fabric per metre = 32, lining per metre = 9, rod and hardware = 70, making and fitting = 120 and currency = USD ($). Replace the sample opening and fabric or hardware values with measurements taken for the mounting method you plan to use.
Results for these inputs
- Fabric and lining
- 328.00 USD
- Estimated curtain cost
- 518.00 USD
